Since the party hats were initially only available in limited numbers for a brief period and then were subsequently removed and any player fortunate enough to own one is able to sell them for billions of game coins. To obtain heads or the Golden Party Hat, players must complete "various goals" and collect eight golden shards in exchange for their efforts. When all eight shards have been taken, they will be put together into the Golden Party Hat.But it is not just that the event limited in time, but only one golden hat is made for each participant. Similar to their predecessors in OSRS Buy Gold 2001, Jagex states of the golden caps that "after the cut-off time the golden hats will not be available for earning again!"
