I’ve noticed it the most when I’m playing cards with friends. Last week, during poker night, I guessed my buddy was bluffing just because of the way he tapped the table and avoided eye contact. I’m not saying I’m some kind of mind reader, but those little details gave me the upper hand. Makes me wonder if paying attention to body language and habits could give you an edge outside of games too — like at work or even in casual conversations.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean. I used to work in sales and honestly, being able to read a customer’s mood or hesitation was more valuable than the product knowledge itself. People give off subtle signals all the time without realizing it. It reminds me of how smart gamblers rely on observation more than luck, which I read about here: https://thedigitalweekly.com/why-intelligent-people-like-to-gamble/ . For me, I use it even when negotiating prices at flea markets — I watch if someone is eager to close a deal or if they’re just casually browsing. Picking up on that vibe helps me know when to push and when to back off.
